About

Founded by operators,
for operators.

Retail Experts Network Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-incorporated expert network for retail, F&B and FMCG across South East Asia. We were started by people who spent their careers inside the businesses our clients are trying to understand.

Why we built this

The knowledge exists. Access to it does not.

Every market in South East Asia is run by a few hundred people who genuinely know how it works — the buyers, the country managers, the leasing heads, the distributor principals. Almost none of that knowledge is written down, and almost none of it is reachable by a company on the outside looking in.

Meanwhile, the people who hold it reach a stage — a role change, a restructuring, a retirement — where the knowledge stops being used at all. We built Retail Experts Network to close both gaps at once: businesses get an operator who has already solved their problem in their market, and operators get a way to keep practising their craft, on their own terms, at a rate that reflects what they know.

We are deliberately small and deliberately selective. During the Singapore beta, every brief is matched by a founder personally. That does not scale, and for now that is the point — reputation compounds, and a network is only worth what its weakest member is worth.

Positioning

Connecting South East Asia's retail minds. Navigating strategy, together.

Our model

An invitation-only network of proven operators.

We are not a consultancy with a bench, and not a marketplace with a search box. We are a curated network: you submit a brief, and we match you with the exact operator required to answer it.

Curated, not crowdsourced

Members are invited or referred, then verified, referenced and interviewed. We would rather have fifty experts we would stake our name on than five thousand profiles we cannot vouch for.

Independent, not employed

Experts are independent contractors engaging in their individual capacity. Their views are their own, which is exactly why they are worth hearing.

Singapore-contracted

Whichever market the work touches, you contract with one Singapore entity — one agreement, one invoice, one point of accountability, governed by Singapore law.

Leadership

Who you are dealing with.

Three operators, three complementary parts of the same problem: what to sell, how to get it to market, and how to run it efficiently once it is there.

Retail, e-commerce & category management

A commercial leader with 18+ years across supermarket, convenience and online formats, and P&L ownership from SGD 30M to SGD 150M. At Amazon Fresh APAC he owned eight ambient grocery categories worth roughly a third of Singapore's topline, growing revenue 28% and net margin 6.8 points through joint business planning and Amazon Vendor Services, and serving as subject-matter expert for seasonal selection and pricing across the region.

Before Amazon, he spent eleven years at NTUC FairPrice across buying and category management — building the "Ocean Fresh Delite" private label from scratch to +1200% first-year growth, co-leading the A*STAR night-buying automation programme that lifted productivity 45%, and being named Model Employee of the Year in 2017. He also led merchandising for the omnichannel startup honestbee, growing assortment 40% and topline 1.7x in six months.

He has taught this craft as well as practised it: three years as Module Lead and Lecturer in e-commerce, retail management and merchandising analytics at Nanyang Polytechnic, running live industry projects with Shopify, Shopmatic and Shopline.

Commercial leadership, distribution & revenue growth management

A general manager and CPG commercial leader with P&L responsibility across 23 APAC markets, and the financial fluency that is uncommon among commercial leaders. As Senior Commercial Director APAC at Lamb Weston and a member of the regional leadership team, he drove revenue excellence across QSR, retail and distributor channels — outperforming plan by 9% in FY24 and 7% in FY25, and delivering a 65% volume gain with major QSR accounts through a structured "Protect & Pursue" joint business planning process.

As General Manager of International Shoppers, he transformed a marginally profitable distribution business into an SGD 150M operation, turned the Quix central kitchen from loss-making to profitable through sharper customer segmentation, and was part of the team that acquired and integrated a fifty-year-old distributor with a Singapore and Malaysia footprint. Earlier, he revitalised a bread manufacturing business at High 5 Consolidated and spent eight years with Cathay Organisation — establishing cinema operations in Dubai, then returning to Singapore as a revenue growth manager to launch the Platinum Movie Suites and its online booking system.

His specialism is end-to-end revenue growth management: pricing, promotional optimisation, trade investment and portfolio mix, worked across sales, marketing and finance rather than in any one of them.

Automation, AI & digital operations

Twelve years as a marine geophysicist, then a mid-career switch into enterprise automation — a combination that produces someone equally comfortable with hard technical detail and with the operating realities of a large organisation. As Senior Manager at SingHealth he led organisation-wide digital transformation through robotic process automation, establishing an enterprise Automation Operating Model to help institutions build sustainable centres of excellence rather than one-off scripts.

At Bolloré Logistics he was Digital Automation Program Lead, sourcing and implementing intelligent document processing, migrating the entire RPA estate from on-premise to cloud-hosted virtual machines, and establishing segregated production, UAT and test deployment practice. Earlier automation work at ABeam Consulting and UST Global covered banking KYC, corporate banking and investment operations, alongside four processes delivered at Bolloré that returned 360 hours a month.

For REN he owns the technology: the intake and matching workflow, the compliance audit trail, and the automation capability our experts bring to clients' own back offices.

The seal

What the mark means.

The circle

A unified network seal — unity, continuity, and a retail ecosystem without a boundary.

The lion

Strength and leadership, and Singapore: the market we are built in and contract from.

The infinity loop

Endless opportunity and sustained growth — and the way knowledge circulates in a network rather than terminating in a report.

The character 人

People. The network is not a database; it is a room of individuals who agreed to be accountable for what they say.
